The Full Baking Soda Recipe: The 2 Steps Every Video Leaves Out

I'm 62. The shot you saw in my video is only step one. Here are all three steps, in the right order, with exact amounts, and the step most women skip.

- Mother Mieko

That trip to the fridge at 11 p.m.? It is not "no willpower." It is not "just age." It's a signal problem. After 40, your gut can run too acidic, and the cells that tell your brain "I'm full" go quiet. You finish dinner and your brain never gets the message.

Here's the part nobody says out loud: your body already makes the same fullness hormone the shots copy. It just stopped getting heard.

The baking soda shot is real. But it only does one job out of three. Do it alone, or in the wrong order, and most women feel nothing, then decide their body is broken. It isn't. Here is the whole recipe, in order:

1 · WAKE2 · PROTECT3 · FLIP

Tip: tap each step to check it off as you go.

Why Everything You've Tried Has Failed

Eating less. You shrink the plate, but the signal is still quiet. So the hunger comes right back, louder, usually around 11 p.m.
The shots. They rent the signal while you keep paying. Every weekly dose told your body to stop making its own. The day you stop, the hunger comes roaring back.
The $12 bottle of berberine. The right ingredient with the wrong delivery. Most of a regular capsule is broken down by stomach acid before it can do its job. That's why so many women took it for months and felt nothing.
Baking soda alone. It opens the door. But with nothing coming through that door, the other two jobs never get done.

The 3-Step Recipe, In Order

1
WAKE
The Soda Shot
1 minute · once a day, morning or before dinner
Pour 8 oz (one regular glass) of warm water. Warm, not hot
Add ¼ teaspoon of plain baking soda. Level it off with a knife. Never heaped, never more
Morning version: add the juice of half a lemon and a pinch of salt if you have it, just a little between your fingers. It will fizz, that's normal
Evening version: instead, crush 3 fresh mint leaves between your fingers and drop them in
Stir, then sip it slow over a minute or two: morning version on an empty stomach, evening version 20 minutes before dinner. One or the other, never both on the same day
Why: these are the two versions from my videos, and they do the same first job. The baking soda helps calm the acid that keeps those gut cells asleep. Think of it like opening the curtains in a dark room: the cells finally get the conditions they need to start signaling again. Warm water dissolves it completely. Pick the version that fits your day and stick with it.
Once a day. ¼ teaspoon. Never more. More is not better, and this is simple but strong. Baking soda is high in sodium: if you're on a low-sodium diet, take blood pressure, heart or kidney medication, or you're pregnant, talk to your doctor before you try it.
2
PROTECT
The Ginger Guard
10 minutes · with dinner
Slice 1 inch of fresh ginger root (about the size of your thumb tip) into thin coins
Steep the coins in a cup of hot water for 10 minutes
Sip it slowly with dinner or right after it
Why: once those cells wake up and send the "I'm full" message, your body has a second thief. An enzyme called DPP-4 breaks that fullness hormone down within minutes, before it can reach your brain. Ginger's active compound, gingerol, has been studied for how it slows that enzyme down. In plain English: the "stop eating" message survives long enough to be heard.
If you take blood thinners or diabetes medication, ask your doctor before adding daily ginger.
3
FLIP
The Switch
every morning · on an empty stomach
THE STEP MOST WOMEN SKIP
Understand the switch: every time you eat, your body decides to burn it or store it
Know the ingredient: berberine is the most studied natural activator of that switch (AMPK)
Get the delivery right: it has to make it past your stomach acid, or it does nothing
Why: this is the step almost everyone skips, or does wrong. After 40, stress, poor sleep and hormonal changes can leave that switch stuck on "store." Steps 1 and 2 get the message through; step 3 decides what your body does with the food. Berberine is the ingredient, but it's also one of the hardest to absorb: studies suggest less than 1% of a regular oral dose reaches your bloodstream. That's the part a kitchen can't fix, and the reason I don't leave this step to chance (see below).
Berberine can interact with medication for blood sugar, cholesterol and blood clotting, and it isn't for pregnancy or nursing. If you take any prescription medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Why These Three Work Together

1 2 3 WAKE PROTECT FLIP the cells the signal the switch

Each step has one job, and each one needs the step before it. Wake the cells, and the "I'm full" message starts again. Protect the message, and it actually reaches your brain. Flip the switch, and your body starts using what you eat instead of storing it. Skip one, and the chain breaks. That's why baking soda alone felt like nothing, and why berberine alone felt like nothing. Not one ingredient. Three, in order.

Your First 7 Nights, and After

Nights 1–3

You stop prowling the kitchen between meals. You keep waiting for the usual evening craving, and it doesn't hit with the same force.

Night 7

Portions shrink without a fight. You put the fork down and realize you're done: not deprived, just satisfied. The food noise in your head gets quieter.

Week 2

That tight, swollen feeling around your middle starts easing. Many women tell me their rings fit better and their face looks less puffy in the morning.

Week 4 and beyond

Clothes start fitting differently. The fridge stops calling your name at night. You open it, look, and simply close it again.

What women describe when they give all three steps consistency. Individual experiences vary.

The one thing I don't leave to chance: Step 3

Steps 1 and 2 are kitchen things. Step 3 isn't. I tried doing all three by hand: a quarter teaspoon here, a berberine capsule there, ginger when I remembered. It didn't work. The dose was off one night, the order was off the next, and the capsule was breaking down before it ever got where it needed to go.

You might be thinking: "so it's just baking soda, I'll mix it myself for two dollars." Baking soda alone is only the shield: it opens the door and has nothing to send through it. The berberine is what matters, and it has to arrive in the right dose, protected from your stomach acid.

This is simply how I do it now: one scoop of SlimSoda† in a glass of water every morning. All three steps in one scoop, in order:

No measuring spoons, no guessing, no missed steps. One honest note: they make it in small batches, and when a batch sells out, restocking takes weeks.

And if it's not for you, it costs you nothing. SlimSoda comes with a 90-day money-back guarantee, even if you send back empty tubs. I'm not asking you to believe me. I'm asking you to test it.

Who This Is NOT For

Before you decide which path to take, let me be straight with you. This approach is not for everyone.

Two Paths Forward

PATH 1Close this page. Keep doing the shot on its own, or skip it. Tonight goes like every other night: you eat less at dinner, you're back in the kitchen at 11 p.m., and tomorrow you start over again. You already know that.
PATH 2Start SlimSoda today. One scoop in water every morning covers all three steps, in the right order, so you're not guessing at the one step a kitchen can't fix. You have 90 days to see how your body responds, or get your money back. Quieter evenings, a calmer appetite, one night at a time. YES, I WANT SLIMSODA →

Same body. Two very different next 30 days. Choose in one sentence: keep doing one step out of three, or do the whole recipe, starting today.
